INN concludes massive restructure of AHCA site

The Challenge:

The American Health Care Association’s website was a navigational mess.

While the site was designed to be a great resource for the many people who used it –care providers, policymakers, state affiliates, residents/familes and businesses/vendors – the information itself was difficult to access. There was an incredible amount of content, but neither a clear path to access it nor flexibility to change it.

The Resolution:

The sheer amount of content the site contained required intense thought and analysis. Innovative started with a survey of existing members and analysis of site statistics to see where and how to restructure the information.

Innovative created an information architecture that would put the users’ most-needed content where it was easiest to locate. We then provided an in-depth “white paper” that laid out each page of the site and the function it would serve, as well as the technical details on how it would work.

Due to the mass of information and the variety of users and their needs, Innovative also created a User Profile system that would allow each user access to the information that was important to them.

The last piece of the puzzle was creating an attractive design that enhanced the AHCA brand and bringing all the information into the new design and structure.

INN Was The Game Changer

It was a race they predicted Bob Hensgens couldn’t win.  His opponent Linda Hardee’s home base was much larger and Hensgens was at a major geographical disadvantage.  Innovative couldn’t change the population we changed the game.

“Bob Hensgens was the underdog.  We worked hard to build his name and tell his story,” said Jay Connaughton, Partner at Innovative Advertising.  “There were critical differences between Bob and his opponent -- more than just their hometowns -- and our TV spot and mailers defined the issues and turned this election on its head.”

Every move carefully targeted and timed

Heading into the final few days of the election even longtime Louisiana political reporter John Maginnis described the race as “too close to call”.  But Innovative had a plan.

“We carefully timed and targeted the last hard-hitting mail piece to drive home our message,” said Gordon Reese, Political Director at Innovative Advertising.  “Bob Hensgens’ victory increased our string of wins for INN candidates to a perfect 10.”
