Freelance Video Editor

People Who Think is seeking a talented editor/motion graphics artist hybrid for a 4-8 week period to edit various ads and digital content for our political division, Innovative Politics. This is someone who is equally as comfortable designing and animating motion graphics in After Effects as they are editing and grading footage in Premiere.

Political advertising requires text-heavy, information-delivering graphics, as well as creative editing utilizing a variety of techniques — oftentimes all in one project. The work is fast-paced with quick turnaround times. (Thirty second ads are typically turned around in one to two days, depending on the nature of the spot.)

Strong experience with the full Adobe suite of products is required, in particular After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop.

In addition to being able to both design and edit, you should also be comfortable with:

  • Conforming to our Agency’s project formatting and data management structure
  • Color Correction — the ability to grade footage from LOG
  • Sound mixing
  • Exporting to various delivery formats

Required non-technical or creative skills:

  • Ability to take constructive criticism and apply it accordingly
  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Great written and verbal communication skills, particularly regarding a projects progress
  • Detail oriented — a lot of small, technical elements are required to keep political advertising
    legally compliant
  • Ability to multitask

The ability to work nights and weekends, in addition to regular work hours, is a huge plus.

This is a freelance position and can be performed remotely. However it is preferred the first week will be in-office to meet the team and become familiar with internal processes

Please email your resume and portfolio to jobs@peoplewhothink.com. We prefer complete works (ad/promos/videos) as opposed to montage reels, but both will be accepted.
